Permit me for posting a prayer tonight:

Glory be shown to my fellow Link Marines on this day. For we are one day closer to the Singularity.

We have been given this opportunity - to be a part of the Oracle solution. We are not worthy of the blessing that are stored in our future. We must only believe and have patience. We need not be kept awake at night. Our paths have led us here and we know not why. We are comfy in our HODL. Our hands are of iron and our minds are discerning. We ask for updates and we receive none; yet our faith grows in the project. For we know a place is being prepared for us at the table.

We show our gratitude by praising Sergey vocally. We lift his name up high.

Let us pray.

Our Chainlink Team, who art in San Francisco, praise be to your names. Thy mainnet come. Thy updates be done, on Github and on Ropsten. Give us this day, our daily commits, and forgive us for our memes, as we forgive those who FUD against us. Let us not stray into pink wojaked Corrolas, but deliver us Swiftly to the promises of Lambo Land. For thine code is the way and we /Follow_Rory's_Instructions. Financial freedom forever and ever. Amen.

I always see
>give me a usecase of chainlink!
and its a somewhat erroneous question and I feel as it stems from a misunderstanding of what chainlink sets out to do.
The use case for Chainlink is just a data delivery method onto smartcontracts. Think of any usecase a smartcontract can provide and understand that chainlink can apply to that usecase as a middleman.

>Your cat dies and you want insurance money from the smart contract....

Why is insurance always the common example? Maybe because a level a mistrust exists and its easy to spot. A better example would be a financial company wanting to connect legacy systems onto a blockchain and/or switch over to a method of financial trade using smart contracts to facilitate it.

Think of smart contracts like a programmable transaction. Company A wants to trade with Company B for some large amount of money that would need a written agreement done by lawyers, another company to act as an escrow, and a way for them to reconcile the data to ensure payment has been made, all of which costs a lot of time and money. Lets say both company A and Company B wants to do away with this style of trade and instead opt to switch to smart contracts to automate this process, forgoing the need for entire offices of lawyers/accounts/bureaucrats etc. There would be a lot of money on the line here, so they would need to be POSITIVE the data being entered onto their smart contract is SAFE and SECURE. Using a method of decentralized oracles (like Chainlink) would add a layer of security by ensuring that no single entity controls the outcome, and its more resistant to hacks/malicious behavior/downtime. This is a better example as well because Nodes would just need a distributed ledger to reconcile the data. Anything involving insurance/shipping of physical objects would need some sort of trusted sensor for the data source.

Ari Juels is a faculty member at the Jacobs Institute at Cornell Tech. He co-authored
this work in his separate capacity as an advisor to SmartContract ChainLink Ltd., in
which he has a financial interest. In 2004, MIT’s Technology Review Magazine named Dr. Juels one of the world’s top 100 technology innovators under the age of 35. Computerworld honored him in its “40 Under 40” list of young industry leaders in 2007. He has received other distinctions, but sadly no recent ones acknowledging his youth. - (http://www.arijuels.com/))

Chainlink was selected by the World Economic Forum's Tipping Point report as the "Shift in Action" for Smart Contracts, for their work on allowing smart contracts in the Bitcoin network to be automatically triggered by external data. -

Chainlink is partnered with Cornell's IC3, to help launch the first Intel SGX secured link between smart contracts and external data. This more secure way of running an oracle is the future and they're glad to be moving it forward.

Chainlink has been chosen as a 2017 Blockchain Applications Cool Vendor by Gartner. This validates the value that CTOs and CIOs see in our more secure approach to connecting smart contracts with critical external resources. - (https://www.gartner.com/doc/3698947/cool-vendors-blockchain-applications-))

Chainlink is presently working with SWIFT on their own SWIFT Smart Oracle. Allowing smart contracts on various networks to make payments, send governance instructions, and release collateral with over 11,000 banks. - (https://www.slideshare.net/slideshow/embed_code/key/HJglipax9KmMPx))

The only thing that makes me more excited then then the thought of becoming wealthy off link...

is the fact that all of us autists and aspies who sat on this board for the last year shitposting and finding breadcrumbs are going to make it with me.

You guys are all my friends. More people will join our ranks here in the coming months but just remember those of us who held this through the bear market. Never forgot us anon. I will think back to those times for the rest of my life. It truly was an amazing experience.
