I have 51k link stored on blockfi. At 5.5% interest that is 2805 link earned per year. INTEREST IS TAXED. link will increase so lets say that in the year, the price of link averaged out to $35. That means I will have 2805 link x $35 x 1.28 exchange rate usd/cad = $125,664 in interest income subject to full taxation. We will round this to $126k cad. Pic related.

I have $64,334 tax owing. I deduct the amount I paid already off my employment income, I will still have $64,334 - $15,477 = $48,857 in taxes owing. I cannot cash out 100% the $126k in interest income. Keeping 66% of the interest on blockfi to compound is MANDATORY as that equates to keeping 3% of my earnings compounded (2% is wasted away on inflation and 1% is additional savings). I can only cash out $126k x 33% = $42k per year AND THAT IS ONLY TO PAY THE TAXES OWING. I STILL NEED TO PAY $48,857 – $42k = $6,857 TAXES. My savings is $13,423 so I use that to pay the remainder of my taxes resluting in $6,566 left over.
