Unspent transactions on other blockchains have indefinite lifetimes, which means indefinite storage costs - therefore, all transaction fees have this uncertainty factored in so full nodes can hedge against too many transactions which never expire.
On Saito, transactions pay per epoch, which means your upfront fee will always be cheaper because you can pay just that fee and then let your data expire.
It's what allows Saito to scale to terabytes a day and give every user on the internet affordable access to blockspace.
