The relationship goes both ways:

SWIFT wants a decentralised community based approach to open banking information and more accessible APIs, they want to deploy something related to blockchains. They expressly state this in official documents. They look into this guy Sergey who owns the SmartContract domain and possibly has been working on a similar project (if you’re headhunting and doing research you’ll be looking for someone who’s vision is consistent with your own) Sergey then starts developing it with SWIFT but SWIFT remains behind the scenes. Sergey then needs to basically promote his solution and his product to mega corps, and also even to SWIFT. Just because SWIFT gave him a green light doesn’t mean he doesn’t have stuff to prove to them.

Partnerships and research initiatives flow both ways.

Decentralised community. I keep telling you, LINK has no value if the community is decentralised. Barriers to entry don’t exist so SWIFT can accumulate but so that the right people accumulate.
