hey man, unsoften the mesh, extract the perimeter of each piece and join it with a plugin called curviloft, search it on youtube it does just what you need.

you are very close, just double click the surface and map it with the same name the mesh has, you can see the names on the left of the image you uploaded which will also show when you double click the surface.
in order it should be:
1-double click the surface
2-double click the texture name
3-go to the diffuse slot in selected mesh/texture and assign proper file.
4- export on the save as menu as .skp
5- fuck bitches.

ok, ill bite Mr. retarded troll, i have a lot of work to spend time doing some speakers for you, but two spheres is really not much of a callenge anyway. But the worst thing you typed is that architecture is a variation of cardboard boxes which means two things, either you are absolutely ignorant about the depth of architecture as an art, or you just want to draw attention to your utterly stupid rant about something you know nothing about.

the route was exporting form 3dmax to .3ds,
then in deep exploration i just opened the 3ds and exported to .skp that way you skip the converting to texture part as deep exploration does it automatically. it´s that easy. i wish i had time to make a video for you but im kinda busy today at the office. if you need to convert something else send it to me and i will do it gladly when i have the chance.

one last thing is that i had to re apply the texture paths in deep exploration but i just had to double click the geometry and reassign the texture with the same file name.

no problem, thanks for the textures. Just sent you the textured sketchUp file to your email. I guess the problem may be the format since SketchUp does no read natively .dds files (direct draw surface) it can read tiff, png and jpeg i believe. maybe .bmp but im not sure, i those cases you can do two things, convert your dds to jpeg via Photoshop and re assign the textures in max, or export converting the file with a software like simlab or deep exploration.
i did a little render using the maps as roughness maps on the reflection layer, not sure if it was snow or roughness so i did a region render.

i would upload it for you gladly to youtube but the problem with your gun comes from the file itself, you dont have the textures referenced to that gun, those 5 missing textures should be linked prior to exporting the 3ds file. do you have them?

sure, sometimes it´s a scale or a geometry incompatibility and sometimes the uvmapping or the reference file is missing, that has happened to me but with 3ds files. send me the model to nektares@gmail.com to see if i can fix it with deep exploration cad edition, i can try to convert it there. it usually works for me.

tfw you can never do more than what you can currently do.

Also it can handle pretty decently volumetrics, displacement and BRDF materials, as shown in this rendering, all inside sketchup and rendered with Thea, i know my software limitations, but as i said before, for architecture its a great and very quick software.

lol >>571507 is right, it is a plane with an alpha map i created on pixplant, pretty basic material stuff too, just an alpha over a flat white color.

It´s calculated with TR2, an unbiased render engine, i does not have noise because i calculated it for enough time, i have a double xeon (32 cores) does a good job at this type of scene, also you have to really screw up your scene to get noise in exterior renders.

i started with vray, so when i picked up Thea it was a pretty fast process, i`d say if you really practice everyday and read the manuals, like 2 months, then it`s just perfecting the tools and optimizing the model so you make it easy for the engine. Also talking about tools, it depends what you are using your software for and how capable it for what you are using it. SketchUp is complete shit for animation, characters, organic stuff (it has plugins like artisan and subD but they are attempts at doing something the software is not designed for and make a somewhat decent job) and high detail objects and furniture, it is shit for almost everything now that i think about it lol, but for architectural visualization and design its a fantastic tool, i love it, i have used it everyday for the past 10 years and i dont regret it a bit.

here`s another render of a mall i did like a year ago.

i do decent shit in sketchUp, i know it´s not 3Dmax or C4D but it´s much more capable that what people think it is. it is shit without plugins thogh, but plugins and renderers make it a good tool for fast work.
