I know YOU don't.
But some of us work for a living designing things that have to work and have to be capable of being manufactured by real machine tools from real stainless steel... and have to fit together and support the weight or withstand the pressure or operate with the real-world forces exerted on them.
>muh fictional spaceship with pretty textures and cute shading
Sure.
But some of us design things that have to work in the real world or somebody dies!
Look around you.
You're surrounded by real things doing real jobs.
Didn't you ever wonder who comes up with the designs you copy, without knowing exactly how they work?
Wonder no more... It is people like me.

>REAL
As in ALL the parts and shapes have to work and work together to do real jobs, plus be able to be maintained, removed, cleaned and replaced, with tolerances.
I don't just paint pretty pictures of non-functioning clip-art.

No... what I design GETS MADE.
CNC plus lathe work.
Does ya get it now, hon?

I use Fusion360.
But I design real things that get manufactured so it makes sense.
Are you intending to make real trucks?

Too fussy.

I ONLY design in Fusion360... so everything I design is REAL and can be made.
Is it a working model or just looks like a real thing?

just finished rendering some fire and smoke in blender, i thought about making something explode with debris and shit but im to lazy, plus im on a laptop so it would take 3 million years to render if a 3 second film took 5 hours XD (the animation is in AVI format so a pic is all i can give)

Why are you texturing your leaves anyway?
Unless you're doing closeup shots, all it does is make the render take longer and add more possible faults.

Blender is master program.
It just takes ages to learn everything.

>preset materials
Memorize the important bits of this, everything else about creating materials should be easy.
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.6/Manual/Materials/Properties/Transparency#IOR_values_for_Common_Materials
Seriously, you should get yourself well practised with creating your own materials, then it will be faster to make a material than to find it.
