Hm... you don't have it modded to use ABS too, do you?

I was looking at the PrintrBot because it's so cheap but the only thing that turned me off was the small build volume and lack of ABS.

Do you just get longer rods and a larger build plate and modify the min/max of the axis' in the software?

I cam here to make this thread essentially, but I've been looking at various RepRap kits, particularly the Prusa I3 kit from 3DPrinterCzar. I'm thinking about building it from scratch though because I want to increase the build volume.

Really you have two paths to a good printer as far as I can tell:
>build it yourself from a kit or sources parts
Good for tinkerers, open source ideology is good, tailor it to your needs.
I was looking at a PrintBot kit for $300 originally but the build volume is too small for my needs. The Pruse looks perfect and the community around them is big.
>buy a plugNplay printer
Notably more expensive, probably closed source, few mods, but you can get printing without any hassle really.
I've heard the Soliddoodle 4 is meh, but the Press which is coming out soon looks extremely promising.
