is max or maya better for archviz? I want to learn either soon, I've only used blender and fusion but poly modelling in blender can be fucking annoying sometimes.

Max, it's the best software modeling-wise. Idk much about rendering engines but afaik Redshift or Octane are pretty good.

most archviz boils down to arranging pre-made assets into very simple boxes (the way that little girls play with furniture in doll houses) and for some reason long ago everyone decided they were going to use max to do this.
it's basically not viable to use maya or any render engine other than vray or corona because of this reason.
blender is starting to catch up because blender attracts these types of users (grown men who like to act like little girls) but for now, max is the way

houdini >>> max + railclone > max >>> powergap >>> microsoft windows paint 3d > kai's super goo + 3D AI trained on gay porn >>> ... >>> (insane power gap) >>> the indian freeware known as blender

yeah I mean I want to design and model everything myself for practice

I switched MAX with its redundant workflow for blender. Oligopolistic faggot

.this guy is pretty cool, i guess, somewhat like zaha hadid, but still very introductional!!

doing interrior, better have a solid library of current style items at hand!

Use Blender, Autodesk will ruin you, you most probably will have to use Revit to edit the shit models some unpaid intern made, two Autodesk licences will hike the price you have to ask for every render and you'll get replaced by someone in the third world that pirates everything.

If you're the guy living in the third world, nobody will be paying for software, but Autodesk does have snitches that get paid to tell their legal teams about you (personal experience) just steer clear of their spyware bloated software.

I think a lot of the people here dismissing blender are just being baby ducks really.
You could argue that maya makes rigging easier maybe, i don't know, but what do they mean by max is better at modeling?
Not to mention you have to get two software with different kinks.
blender+zbrush might be a better combo than max+maya either way and substance painter or armor paint for texturing.

Houdini for Archviz? Maybe for procedural processes and rendering/layout but alone? Maybe I'm missing something but im skeptical.

how do you think city layouts in video games are done? they don't put street lights and lane markings down manually, you know?
designing single elements or complete floors: max+railclone
putting everything together: houdini
never getting anywhere in life while simultaneously being arrogant: blender

>> No.949965

>>948970
And there is you ignorant and arrogant. You know that you could model elements in blender and do the exact same procedural arrangement in blender nodes as in Houdini for procedural modeling? Or are you going to keep playing fool or should I say Golem?
