People in the industry use blender.

Industry standard is just software that has been built into pipelines, many being Maya.

At Pixar you can model in any software, it just has to be send to a Maya file at the end of the day.

Now that you mention modeling at Pixar, I wonder if they outsource some modeling and materials to other studios?

>>791940
No. No other studio would accept Pixar models because of their bad topology.

Why did the Blender devs wait until Houdini became popular before planning "Everything Nodes"? Maya is "Everything Nodes" already, has always been, but Blender devs didn't seem to notice. Or were they aware of its power, but because it was part of an Autodesk product and nothing else, they refused to acknowledge it?

Just because something makes it to production doesn't mean it's good. Sometimes it costs more to fix something and make it perfect, than to go forward with what is working already.

They added the new sculpt uv thing I think, I'm not sure if it was in previous versions, > grab, relax and pinch, other than that Add-ons >Textools, Magic UV, UVpackmaster, Uv Toolkit, Texel Density Checker, UVpackmaster .......

Blender bros, will we show the subs mercy when we take over the industry? I vote no. I say we line up all the fools who paid for software and deal with them like the low IQ traitors that they are.

They wanted a sharp cartoony corner on the mouth, and the cheek is obviously very intentional - they wanted to be able to crease it.

Basically they made topology that suited the deformations they planned to subject it to.

>> No.792337

>>792176

Blender's UV tools are still basic but I've gotten the hang of them at this point. It's all a case of unwrapping, pinning your edges, unwrapping again, relaxing, moving, pinning everything you're happy with, unwrap, repeat.

If you want jap style square grids, use projections and follow active quads.

Actually, judged by what he was trying to communicate: I think he doesn't think at all. Its just a simulation of thinking - in truth he is a brainwashed cult member that has no idea of the real world and is repeating what the cult masters have drilled in his head. Namely the delusions of grandeur of taking over the whole industry. That it is mixed with delusions of power over people and fantasies about violence against those who think and behave differently is a tell-sign of Narcissistic tendencies.
