Nope.

Good UX design = The base is the best set up but you can customize it to your liking (blender)

Alright = The base is a good setup but you can't customize it

Shit = The base is a bad set up (3ds max, maya)

Booboo = The base is a terrible set up, and you have to customize it to have something good. But even then the alien ux is still there (zbrush).

It's made to work with a pen so it relies on touching and dragging with a few modifier keys instead of using a layout made for keyboard + mouse.
If you ever tried using maya, nuke or whatever with a tablet you'll see how much better zbrush feels compared to them.

Look scrub, 3D has a high curve when you're first starting. That goes for almost every program out there and for 3d design concepts in general. Zbrush is by far the best at their field, Pixologic is a great company that lets you have a lifetime subscription for less than 1000 while Adobe and Autodesk charge you that yearly. Your hate is bullshit, Pixologic is the best company in the industry hands down.

It's not even the UI that drives me crazy about Zbrush. You can customize it in a basically unlimited manner once you learn the software and figure out a workflow.

It's just absolutely insane how you can accidentally break your project by hitting a wrong button or with an errant keystroke. I've spent more hours troubleshooting the program, trying to figure out if I accidentally invoked some feature that messed things up, or if I just ran into a bug.

I once tried to import an image plane and for some reason, it turned my tools invisible. I tried different fills, materials, nothing. After wasting an hour, I just said fuck it and exported my tools as a ZTL and started over in a new project file. Luckily I was still in the blocking stages of my model so the subtool histories I lost weren't a huge deal.

It's just crazy that this "industry standard" software is just so itchy to ruin your work if you so much as look at it the wrong way.

>ZBrush
Tool Menu > Sphere > Draw in Sphere > Go to Edit mode > Make poly mesh 3D > Start editing

Just one example of the hundreds of backwards things that is wrong with ZBrush that should have been fixed 15 years ago.

>b-b-but ive used the program for 10 years and I like it now!

Good for you, but if that's your argument then the program might as well not have a UI at all, you could eventually figure your way around any program if you grind your face at it for long enough even if it was in a foreign language. This doesn't solve the fact that nothing about ZBrush is intuitive.

Yeah you can move boxes around but that doesn't change the completely bonkers workflow and the ridiculous naming conventions the program has. Why the fuck it's still called a "tool" and not "object" like every other program is beyond me. They should just completely remove the 2.5D shit that nobody uses and only exists to confuse and enrage anyone learning the program.
