how does one go on about creating spheres like this? I've got 2 main problems:
1. how do I make the icosphere wireframe rounder?
2. how do I place the small spheres in this pattern without having to manually rotate scale and position every panel? (I tried using a particle system but didn't manage to get good results. too much randomness)
please help.

This is another prime example on why my philosophy on /3/ should be taken with more notice. The fact that he can't figure out how to make and replicate something as basic as this is a travesty, and it shows just how lowbrow the entries to 3D creation are for the future generations. What he's actually asking for is hand holding, and because his step by step tutorials on Youtube do not specifically cover this task that he is currently facing, he turns to socialization and mentoring in order to achieve his goals. On which he not only will never remember how to repeat these tasks again if he so much as comes across a slight variation of this same problem in the future, he will be arrogant and egotistical upon the finished work, as though he made it himself. This is why I choose not to help, /3/ is filled with weakness and it must be stomped out in a painful, but ultimately necessary sacrifice.

The task is beyond simple if you just Googled it. You deserve death.

I'm gonna give you a hint. Make a duplicate of your mesh and then subdivide it without smoothing.

results are still somewhat random and unorganized. it should emit from the center of the faces but that doesn't seem to work for me.

based portal 2 concept art poster. I adore the aesthetics and art made for that game (and there was a ton of concept art produced). possibly the last good game valve out out

I'm not sure if alyx is going to be that good, mainly because a fuckton of the artists who'd been working there for 10+ years left / laid off in 2013. you read Glassdoor and you get the impression of a seriously dysfunctional company, no wonder they all left.

Becuase comments like this, /3/ will not improve ever.

instead of helping people you continue with that posts for your own ego, but i doubt you 're capable of the simplest things in 3d.

/3/ will remain as a shelter for trolls coming from /b

trolls like you i would say c:

other than what i said before you are right in some things but often the support you have in forums and good critisize is what makes you improve, You are very angry with everything you post.
This model can be done in diferent ways, ones more efficient than others imo. Op figured how to do it already so..

For those of you who are new to the internet, this poster is what's known as an uncontested, genuine badass. Should you encounter him in the real world, do NOT approach or antagonize him in any way, as he will FUCK YOU UP.

Now, there are lots of posers online, but you can be confident that this guy's the real deal thanks to his throwing "you deserve death" at the end of his manifesto (as opposed to the more common and lazier "kys"). Admittedly, I had to shave a couple points off due to his neglecting to throw "faggot" in once or twice (and, sadly, no pejorative ending in "let" was utilized), but even the best of us have an off day now and then.

I hope to one day meet this man and buy him a beer, even though it's likely to end with him kicking my ass. And rightfully so.

I know that a lot of the big expansive vista pieces like OP and picrel were done by Jeremy Bennett, he did some pieces for hl3 too.
Used to work at WETA, still at Valve iirc

the only thing bothering me with the concept art is the weird human pose used in like 10 pieces. no human stands like that.

>> No.723801

fair. keep in mind though that this concept art is for other artists to flesh out and create assets from.
giving them a sense of scale is very helpful (in this case, i'd assume the player character's scale)

>> No.723902

>>723797
the human figure is probably there just to provide the sense of scale for the scene
