Are Disney brainlets? The idea that the remake is so realistic it should referred to as live action is simultaneously extremely arrogant while also kind of diminishing the role of the animators

Fucking idiots STILL can't let go of the stupid ass chromatic aberration faggotry.
They act like we're still taking photos with early 20th century apparatuses.
No, it won't make your shit renders look more special, nor more realistic.

>> No.717483

>>717479
i think part of the reason why cg chromatic aberration looks that bad is because it's a clumsy post-render effect slapped on without much thought.

there is work being done in the in-render lens emulation domain that will probably lead to much better and subtler work over the next 5-10 years.

http://zenopelgrims.com/polynomial-optics-arnold/

this thing is neat will let you do that, but right now it requires you to render each frame out 3 times. it's an early, limited, almost proof-of-concept implementation of lens emulation in arnold - i think he's putting out a full featured commercial product next year.

The model is amazing, but that image looks like it's straight out of the renderer. Even the simplest color grading (and i'm not great at it) would have made a big improvement.
