>> No.693517

I was on a forum like that some time ago, it was called forum.avfx.org. People would put money together to buy cg courses. Unfortunately now that domain looks dead and I don't know where it moved

>> No.693640

The site still exists and the domain still works as seen from the screens taken in May of this year.

It's not a pirate site so there's no torrents and no trading, no warez posts, no cracks. They organize group buys, which is legal and they don't distribute material to the internet at large and all the money goes to schools and creators.

There are a lot of industry people from MPC, Digital Domain, ILM, Disney, Pixar, Ubisoft, etc. who are members of that community, so it has a really high reputation amongst professionals. The site is run by a veteran TV Producer and several members are senior TDs at highly respected post houses.

It's more of a secret club for pros and those who want to be pros.

ah yeah, that was it. I was invited by some dude on cgpeers. I don't know if anything changed but if i remember correctly you can't get in without someone inviting you

>> No.693654

I put my claim in. Wish me luck lads.

What tutorial do you need exactly. They can't beam information into your brain. Unless it's how to use an app I find all these watch me work things useless.

The people over at Rigging Dojo seem to have a very different opinion of AVFX Fight Club.

Did you get in? Is it good? I'm thinking of trying as well.

They never responded.

Well, that sucks. It seems that an invite is required then.

Out of curiosity, did you personally know the guy who invited you? I'm trying to gauge how strict/paranoid they are at AVFX. Because the more paranoid they are, the more valuable the content inside must be, right?

That Rigging Dojo dude is pulling stuff from his ass. He can lie all day long, that doesn't make it true. anyone who manages to get into the site can confirm they don't sell, pirate and don't do Torrents.

As a matter of fact, they BAn people for doing illegal shit, as you can see here from a post the admin did a couple of days ago.
