I thought without tilt the pen might not pick up motions depending how you hold the pen. If you have the bamboo and it's good then that's great. Dont see the need to spend twice as much for a pro.

Mine still works with light pressure like pic related, I don't think there's much of a difference in the angle they recognize, you just lose the additional sensor responsible for figuring out the tilt of the pen. It probably has its uses but I honestly view it as kind of a gimmick, like touch gestures or having an eraser on the back of the pen.

I got Ugee HK1560 Drawing Monitor.
I highly recommend buying a tablet monitor vs buying a cheap tablet and looking at your current screen. Hand-Eye coordination is just an unneeded learning curve.

OP here. I got the regular intuos pictured above. Good fucking shit. Nice and light and I like the way the surface is seamless. Pen is super light and you forget you are holding it.. The only autistic thing that bothers me is the power light. Everyone was correct and you dont need tilt. Really dont see what difference the pro model would make so save ur money.

Buy a Wacom, or look up the reviews for some Huion/Monoprice/Ugee/whatever off-brand Chinese shit you can find to see if it's as good as a Wacom. You can easily afford a knockoff Cintiq with $400, or save your money and get a decent sized Intuos/Intuos clone for around a hundred.

It's the abrasive texture of that 'it's just like paper' that's nothing like paper. I've just taken a 4-stage nail buffer and grinded my tablets to a mirror finish for the couple I've had since they started doing that surface, still on the same nib as when I got it.

The Wacom tablets back in the day had a gloss finish surface, back then it was very common for some artists
to place a paper on top of them in case they wanted some texture to it.
Starting with Intuos 3 or 4 wacom started doing a new surface finish ofn them meant to mimic paper
it would cause rapid nib wear causing them to become flat on one side after not many hours of use.
In my view it also feels more like drawing on some kind of very fine sandpaper rather than any actual paper.

I was very accustomed to the gloss finish of the old tablets and much preferred how they felt
so I simply started removing that surface texture from my tablets since it's a very easy fix.

If you know how to polish your nails you'll know how to polish your tablet.
you're simply removing a few micrometere of material from the surface to give it a 'shine' finish, there are no risks involved.

Cept your girlfriend might wonder why there's black shit on her nailbuffer, but that can easily be resolved by obtaining your own.
they cost like 2 bucks a piece.

Huions are decent if you're on a budget. Wacom is a meme. Although they're "industry standard", we're talking about tablets here so, a fork is a fork and a hammer is a hammer. It's not like the difference between Blender and Maya for instance.

I decided to spring on the Kamvas Pro 13 HD because I'm in college and wanted a graphic display. Only 320$ dollarydoos on amazon with the coupon at checkout. I'm pretty happy with it. I've had none of the issues some people reported like line wobble or screen calibration. Plus I think a firmware update fixed all that anyway.

Cintiq is over-rated, got myself 24HD and have regretted it a lot. Also Wacom customer service screwed me over.
(brand new unit had faulty fan, they switched me a refurbished one with scratches all over)

if you really want an actual screen tablet, go with a knock off brand or a laptop with stylus.

This, to be honest. There are some rare cases where things like tilt and pen rotation can be handy, but they are so few and so far between that you just save more time not having to deal with those mostly problematic features in the first place. It's one of those things where it's like, if you know what you're doing, then you don't need it; and if you don't know what you're doing, why the fuck are you dealing with shit like tilt in the first place? Get that hard round out and start painting, jackass.

All you need to make polished art is resolution and patience (assuming you can draw, and deal with color, of course). See pic related, for instance; if you zoom in, you'll just see a bunch of circles.

What actually matters is pen pressure(8k is best) and size of the device. All the rest like tilt, parallax, etc are imo memes that you won't really ever notice or need

i have, i work on a cintiq at work and have a Huion at home.I actually prefer the space because it leaves me some space to see what I'm doing. Maybe the guys that draw have different needs, but for what i used it(sculpting and texturing) is a big meme imo

Strictly Wacom or Huion imo. Wacom is the best but Huion comes close, I've known many people with Ugee or off-brand and they broke easily or there were driver problems. Better be safe.
