>when you have no gpu and your cpu is so shit 3d view looks much better than rendered image.

>> No.651015

Render at a higher sample rate, like 256.

It will take a while but Blender's best feature is that you can run it on basically anything. If you have a particularly large render, just render it overnight until you get better hardware.

There are two or three threads that are set up for posting this exact sort of thing. I get that /3/ is a slow board, and we need every thread we can get, but this is just unnecessary for such a small project.
>I rate your thread absolutely retarded/autism
>I rate your mug 8/10
I hate your thread, but not your cup. Good for a first project.

I'd suggest using a better renderer, or running the image through dust and scratches filter in photoshop, it's a quick and dirty way to get rid of the white pixels and noise

What is your graphics card? Also just render overnight

An old OpenCL radeon with a tetrascale 2 architecture,
cycle only support GCN architecture models since the second gen so im fucked
https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/cycles/gpu_rendering.html
it's fine for now, im doing static images and my quadcore cpu works fine (about 30sec for a simple static HD render at 100% like >>651489
) my rig is almost 10yo so i was expecting it

>> No.651578

im reading shit about e-gpu but i supposed you can't use one with an old mbp, but i like the idea maybe for a future setup

https://www.macworld.co.uk/feature/mac/best-egpu-mac-3673105/

>> No.651580

apparently a macbook + egpu setup is doable if you run hight sierra and have a thunderbolt 3 port

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OtJhPIFdLI

with something like this (used by apple for their VR testing and stuff)
https://www.sonnettech.com/product/egfx-breakaway-box.html?tab=2

only works with AMD currently it seem, i see some yt tuts for making it work with nvidia cards as well but idk

651581

I don't have a recent MB with thunderbolt 3 but i wonder if it would be worth it

from what i read a setup like this would require:

>recent mac running high sierra
>thunderbolt 3 port
>e-gpu breakaway box
>an AMD card known to work well with blender
