ayyy, people like op don't want an actual base, they want something nearly complete that they can shit tweak/ruin and then claim it as their own.. this is illustrated by the fact that op came to /3 to ask the question. honestly the 'best' topo for a basemesh looks like a playstation 1 character, maybe 100-300 quads in the basic shape of a person, or what is now standard - just using a sphere and dynamesh.
