I need to make a cocacola cap, but I only need to remove the bottom face, however, the object has 66 subdivisions and if I select the bottom face it also selects the top face for some reason.

This never happened before and the only way to remove bottom one is to shift click every single division...

So how do I fix this? Google gives me nothing

Google gives you everything, just search better.
Study your selection tools and shortcuts.

I did google and read several articles.

This is actually a part of a tutorial. Even tho I am doing the exact same thing the guy is doing, he simply clicks on the face and all the subdivisions dont show for him for some reason.

How do I do this

You know, you can look at an object from more than one angle, right? If you select from the top and both get selected, then look from the side, hold ctrl and drag over the top or the bottom, tada, now only one side is selected!

Pretty sure there is an option to not select back faces though, try taking a browse through your preferences... Or maybe Camera Based Selection in your selection tool's settings.
