My only regrets as a former smoker is that I never bothered to get myself a proper zippo for the duration of my drug habit.
If any smoker is reading this post, get your zippo today before it's to late and you end up like me, just another quitter.

As long as you smoke you might as well make sure you look as devastatingly cool doing it as it is devastating to your health.
Don't just light them with some plastic crap from the gas station and suck em down as causally as wiping your ass in private.

I have owned 4 real zippos and lost each of them in approximately half a year +/-

Also you need to refill them like twice a week and generall they are a novelty and not particular usefull. (they light better when its windy, thats all)

>> No.447334

>>447297
>they are a novelty
>not particularly useful

They keep their flames better in high-wind environments, stay lit without requiring you to hold down any "fuel release" like on regular lighters, are highly resistant to wear and tear (mine has a steel casing), are easy to refill, and cheap to refill as well (A single liter of lighter fluid will last you around 3 months, depending on your habit).

They save money and are quite stylish. They are far from a novelty.

>> No.447335

Actually, scratch that, if you're someone who doesn't "play" with your zippo too often, a liter of lighter fluid can easily last you up to 6 or 7 months.

Zippos are shit.

>> No.447360

>>447288

If you're just trying to look cool, you're less of a "smoker" and more of a "poser."

The only practical use I ever found for a Zippo was using their pipelighters to light pipes. They're along the same lines as a regular Zippo, but instead of the little holes in the wind screen they have a large hole on both sides - you hold it over the bowl of your pipe and light it that way.

Pipe smokers carry more paraphanelia with them, or only smoke in one place, so the fact you run out of fluid every three or four days isn't such a big deal.

Using Zippos for lighting cigarettes is OK if you carry a backup lighter (or lighter fluid) around with you. They're fun to play with, and they look cool, but they're pretty much just toys.

>If you're just trying to look cool, you're less of a "smoker" and more of a "poser."

That's just my point, if smoking can make you look cool enough that some people would consider it just for that aspect
why not profit and do it right if you're already smoking because you're addicted?

Me I started smoking because I had severe stress issues at the time and found it mellowed me out, then I continued because I got addicted.
A year later or so I quit because it diden't sit well with me being asthmatic.

Being a smoker was awesome though, whatever shit happened you could just light a cigarette and everything would be temporarily fine.
Smoking is like having a '||' pause button for your life.

Mellow don't even begin to describe the state of condition I reach on THC, rather I get these hallucinatory trippy like events from smoking weed.
It's like I'm dreaming with my eyes open, I don't actually hallucinate stuff but I can hold pictures in my head as clear as if seeing them with my eyes.
Sometimes it also causes the world to move in slow motion. I can see a person start to speak, and after several seconds I hear their voice start to utter the sentence
on word at the time with long pauses between, making it very hard to piece together what they are saying. And if I speak there is this long delay and then I hear my own sentences in bursts.

Reading about it it turns out it's a documented but very rare reaction to the stuff, suffice to say I couldn't function at all if I attempted to have a casual relationship with miss MJ.

The only problem I find with sculpting the shoulders much is they break the second you try and pose the rig. I'm not sure if there's an easy way to do shoulders. From what I can tell you have to either sculpt them after posing or build a complicated muscle simulation if you want them to move in real time.

The face probably looks weird because of the camera angle, photographing girls from waist height looking up at their chin isn't very flattering.

Mate, entire studios make half ass worked that goes on to sell horribly and then everyone gets fired eventually. This happens all the time. I have spotted some places that need smoothing and polish (like some dimple and pinch on knee), I'm more concerned if proportion is pleasing and if I should push more or less the muscles/surface.

>>448358
Hmm from my POV I think you have simplified in a wrong way the cheek bones / orbitals. Also for the nose, seems as if you had started placing it without taking into account the nasal fossa correctly, it looks like it should come out further to me, right now the nose looks small and pushed inward. You could alternatively push the chin & mandible inward, see if that helps.

Unfortunately though, there are some issues I do not know how to handle.

I am weight painting currently and all is good and well until I rotate the hip and despite not having any weight painted to it, the tail and part of the opposite leg start to move with it.

There is no visible grey or even white on those spots, I went over it with black and nothing happened.

If your clavicle is located in a realistic position you need a scapula that your shoulder connect to for it to work as it should.

Your clavicle do not connect directly to your shoulder joint, it connects to the acromion of the scapula, your scapula is then connected to your ribcage
by a complex system of muscles and tissue. Your shoulder socket is located bellow the acronium on the scapula.

If you make a simplyfied shoulder without a scapula you need to simulate the clavicle and scapula with one bone you place in the approximate center of
rotation for the scapula. This is located inside the upper chest. Exactly where need to be derived trough experimentation on your character.

Yes those are the wires, and I was right. The edges are flowing so easil from the torso into the arm that she looks like a poseable rubber toy.
What you want is a tub that juts from the torso that's been adjusted to flow. Not a flowing bubble that's been adjusted to look like an arm.

This is easier to fix at lower resolutions than you're working at, but what you need to do is break up the edge flow. easiest way would be to delete the shoulder and remake the geoemtry between the torso and the arm from scratch.

Its pretty nice.
Now for the constructive comments:
I think that a crate is something that you take, you pile it up, you transport it, you stack them etc. Crates should never be 100% perfect or clean. You need to add some destruction, some imperfections in the model, or at least, add scratches and broken paint on the texture, around the corners and on the bottom.

I need some help so I guess I should post here.

Hi I'm new. But, I'm trying to model this Puppycat from Bee and Puppycat. The problem is how do I do the bow and arms. Do I make them a separate mesh?

I'm finally having fun with 3D art. I hope this continues. I hope if I sink in enough free time in a year or so I can become good.

It really depends on how naturally artistically gifted you are, some people develop their art skills a lot faster than other.

>>450753
Collar should be a separate mesh. Arms should be part of the body, you just need to work with more polys.
