The tools available now are powerful and many aspects of the modeling process can literally be done with 1-click but you still need to learn the basics with manipulating primitive shapes to even begin.

I'm having trouble even making any shape in blender, the interface makes no sense. Where is the drawing tool?

don't use blender. Pick up maya and never turn back.

if you do get used to blender's absolute garbage interface, you will regret it.

Daz 3D if all you want to do is render and animate. But you'll be using content created by other people, not your own models. If you want to do your own modelling there is no easy "point and click" without learning lots.

No matter what software you use there's going to be a learning curve and it will take quite awhile before you start to get good at it. In other words, no different from any other art form.

The amount of time you invest in learning and developing your skills will pay off in the quality of your work.

just learn z-brush, that's what everyone else new on /3/ does.

>> No.426647

how would that even work, OP? A program that lets you place an arm there, a boob there, etc... and has a module for every possible object ever?

There is a thing called Poser but it doesn't allow you to make 3D, it only lets you place pre-made 3D things

I just have just learned retopo proccess, zSpheres in zBrush specifically. That's pretty well dot to dot. You need a mesh below it though to follow form.

After you have created that though, there is a lot more to do before you can ship a model.
