here's my idea: A first person school shooting simulator made by anonymous. No credit for anone we are all anonymous. Now the game play is like waves, you start out slaughtering all the pretty and emotional teenagers with a weapon of your choice which begins a time limit. You have about 5 minutes to waste as many of these my little pony t-shirt wearing fags before the 5 minutes ends, but after that, police evacuate the kids and move in with guns, so now there's cops in the school that you have to kill for a few minutes then the swat moves in. It keeps getting harder and harder as you try to get killscores that are used to unlock guns to get higher kill scores. We can model some of the schools off of real life schools like columbine and sandy hook. Then we can model some of the shooters like some of the famous school shooters from history. As long as no one gets credit, no one gets blamed for this. Lastly i think we should have ed-209 hunt you down as the last wave. And the game ends when you either get killed or run out of ammo in which the last bullet is saved fro a self inflicted headshot.

The whole "built by slaves" thing is the result of people taking biblical mythology and believing it to be fact. Yes there were slaves. Of course there were slaves and there were even some slaves who laboured on the pyramids. However the bulk of the labour was performed by free Egyptians. These were people who believed they were building the final resting place for the physical remains of their God Ruler. This is a high honour for them to be working on such a project. Slave labour would be minimal and mostly used during the growing seasons when much of the workforce returned to their farms. For unemployed free citizens working on the pyramid could be a year round honour.

let me offer my thoughts. i'm quite surprised by the amount of responses here, people seem really eager to do this. then again its mostly anons telling people how platform X and language Y is shit, as usual lots of talk and not much work.

anybody remember the shortlived super amazing /3/ game? i offered to instantly set up a scene in Unity, provide all needed code (in Js) and only asked for models, what /3/ does best. I got posts from what couldn't have been more that 5 people, a terrain guy that provided desert and moon terrains, satellite guy who provided some satellite dishes and a rover that we mounted a turret on. think he was the one providing the highway modules too. then there were a few carton boxes, barrels, a few buildings of varying quality and a ufo. pic related, screen from one of the last builds.

nobody else really commented, wanted to help or even took the time to tell us how shit unity or java is, interestingly enough. after the five orso guys ran out of models, the entire thread died even though i provided code for everything that was asked for.

my point is, you can keep arguing and boasting your skill until this thread stops bumping, or you could actually start somewhere however shit the foundation is and see what /3/ is and isn't capable of. my honest opinion? /3/ is great at knowing why a given framework is terrible. /3/ is shit at actually working.

Not really but all this thread sums up into a shitstorm of pissing match about which platform sucks and which doesnt. It will end just like the other hundreds of /3/ collab threads and nothing will get done as usual. Unless someone fucking starts something small, and we add it up piece by piece. So post some small scene so we can see what our possibilities are, and then we will mod step by step with small leaps. Modelling and texturing is what /3/ can do best, and we won't need a rigger / animator since we're only modding and all the assets are already there. I'll provide models once we get to the stage where we can freedly modify the player.

I know you'd like to think /3/ cant do shit to compensate for your lack of usefullness, but people on /3/ can do very pretty things individually. Just look at the WIP threads.
The problem here is that we're modellers and texture makers. The same issue about making a /3/ collab is we naturally don't have anybody here who has the capability to program and unfortunately /vg/ and /v/ is a joke. So until some programmer or anybody who knows how to mod properly steps up, we can't move on.

I can't really replace JUST the head, as I'd have to decompile the entire model, replace the head and then recompile it, which I've never done for a ragdoll with bones before. But it is VERY possible to change models with other already made ragdolls.

yeah we can do survival horror-ish, the problem is doing melee anything in UDK requires actual coding,
I can do, and have done, single player maps, you just spawn some bots and tell them to search for and shoot at the player
Custom skins in UT3 can be done, it just takes time since you need to use the base skeleton of ut3 characters as a base and model an animate with it

why not do it the easy way

if you give me a model of a hand holding a knife with one basic animation i can try to make kismet and matinee based melee attacks. it's basically attaching the hand to camera and playing an animation on keypress. damage can be made by using 'modify health' node.
