Whats the best renderer out there for still images? My comp is very old, like 4 years old, with only 1gb gpu memory but 12gb cpu memory. I also cant wait forever on renders. What should I use? V-ray? I already downloaded all the tutorials, but I havent used any.

yeh well this may sounds a bit stupid but i never got the hang of it when i used 3ds max
nowadays i primarily use cinema4d for animtation
and i just render still of objects in the animation's for thumbnails and sometimes as walpaper when people ask.
oh and logo's.
but like i said not a big fan of it but that's just my piece of cake.
oh and you can always try luxrender. its opensource and free to use if i'm correct and uses openGL

Vray is great OP, just use that. Octane requires a pretty beastly GPU, wouldn't try that if I were you.
