It used to be one of the most popular websites for 3d artists. Now it looks dead.
The highest amount of seeders is like 15.

Think about this - the sheer amount of buggy, timebombed cracks was out of this world. If you live in the US, your ISP absolutely knew what you were downloading from, even if it was a private tracker. Everytime I downloaded from there, after I was done, my internet went out about 30 minutes later. Only for that site.

The rise of blender. No longer do you need maya or max or modo as a hobbyist.

The rise of free non commercial editions in houdini and nuke.

Viruses.

In short, I would only go to cgpeers for very very very specific stuff, like grabbing project files from a tut from around 20 years ago that simply dont exist anywhere else. Otherwise, I just sub and pay.
