Environment blocks out hdri, so you need to either add holes to said environment or add actual lights. Adding actual lights is a science of its own, but you can get away by simply copying what actual photographers do. Check pics you want to simulate, look where the light is coming from (granted, it will be probably 3-light meme, because it works) and try to copy that. You can also download some light presets, there are great ones out there.

Otherwise, you can shit on that whole thing and do your environmental render separately from your characters. This is especially good if not done in Daz, which has meh renderer anyway.

Ah. Seems like a trivial question, but it's new, at least.

Some random things you can do. You can merge a complete scene into yours, do a right click, merge scene. So if you've got a scene of only your (well optimized) environment you can occasionally merge it into yours when you need to. You rarely need to. Do keep in mind that since the new versions when Daz put actual object that represent the Iray settings for rendering into your scenes, if they're present, a merge will actually erase yours. So it's better to merge environment + iray setting on characters, not the over way around.

Subgroup for characters, as needed. Copying characters are kind of iffy and mess with geoshells, but merging a subgroup repeatedly provides no issue.

Now never do the hide/unhide dance inside a scene for multi-pose, it's retarded and will absolutely rape your RAM. Do a scene by pose. Your RAM won't nuke itself.

Nothing very complicated. By merging other scenes, iray settings, and merging characters, you can do what you want, as long as you keep the idea: 1 scene, 1 final render.

"dforce hair" is simply strand based hair that uses the dforce engine to simulate. They are much more advanced than normal hair cards or even static strand hairs.
You should check the surface tab and then actually learn a bit about them before you complain. They are high performant and very good but can be extremely clunky and heavy if you dont know what you are doing.
Just do a google search on strand based hairs (they are not DAZ specific) and check how they work. Then you will understand why they make your PC lag if you turn them full on in the viewport (guides and extra hairs).

You really don't need strand based hair to dforce a hair. You just need to apply a dforce weight map to the polygons, and some commercial hairs actually did that before all the strand craze. It works, it's resource not very intensive, and you can wrap around any kind of hair in any kind of way you want, and simulate physics and whatnot.

The issue is more than dforce based hair is nowadays always synonym with strand - and strands have a way of raping your CPU, GPU, RAM and VRAM like they're is no tomorrow. That was a bad design decision from Daz, and the fact many of the most prominent hair vendors have been shying away from strand tech after an initial gold rush is telling.

Yes, you're right. But my fundamental point is that Daz made an enormous mistake by equaling hair physic simulation with strands. That was unnecessary. That was, dare I say, absolutely retarded on the highest level it could be, and there will be years before the community could recover from that.

You can do dforce hair physic simulation in Daz cheaply and in a way that isn't complicated. But Daz decided to push the narrative that all dforce hairs needed to be "strand based", and then when it fucked all its userbase in the GPU, just said "ok, content creator can do what they want". And content creators decided to forgo physic based hair all together, as strands were obviously not working.

This is pure incompetence. Strands != physic based or dforce, and you shouldn't equal the two, and when the tech of one didn't work, that doesn't mean the other unrelated tech can not. We would have likely got common, universal, dforce hair for years, if those fuckers didn't want to make a point equaling two completely different tech.

pretty sure there are lots of tutorials out there. But to get skin like that you need to use roughness, bump, normals and then if you have fine detail (and are not a DAZ affiliate so can do HD morphs) use displacement maps.
Then look up documentation of IRAY and take a look at translucency and SSS.
Lastly there is the lighting and here there are plenty of tutorials out there. But bad lighting will fuck up everything no matter the model.

Breastacular is a good addon to start with. You can get some nice natural presets for it too. Still, you will have to play with morphs on your own, Daz is just retarded about huge naturals.
For example, lady above is a result of combining three premade morphs and then still having to fuck around with various sag, underboob, weight modifiers and most importantly cleavage related sliders I've been collecting.
I have been trying to make a perfect huge natural tiddy for a while now and I am still not 100% content.

normally the other anon is correct but your "problem" is not a problem at all. Genesis 8.1 comes with its own new Iray PBR shader. When you load another figure (any genesis 8 and some genesis 8.1) they come with the old IRAY Uber MDL skin shader. So it has to unload the old shader and load the new one / convert. That takes time.
You can test this by loading in a base genesis 8 and then go to the surface tab and then load the new PBR skin shader. It will then take a bit of time.

I make my own hairs or if I am lazy just edit premade strandbased ones. By using strandbased hairs you can very easily control how heavy they are by simply doing lightweight minimum hairguide only. Then add hairs in instances to follow the hairguides (female hair you can actually see the hair guides if you look closely and how the rest of the hair just follows it). Also for a further out shot like this then just add unrealistically to the thickness of each hair spine. No need to render realistic at this range.
A good place to also cut VRAM:
- all the goblins share the same diffuse, roughness and bump maps in 2k lossy format and only the normal maps are different (used two different ones here). Colour shift is due to added colour in diffuse and different levels of translucency plus varied hues of the SSS
- The rings have no maps applied and only pure shader (camera is too far anyways to catch details and its not a focus)
- Only one tree model is used and simply rotated and shifted around. Also ground and background use the same textures as the tree just different UVs and roughness (no normals or bump).
- The female model only use a diffuse, roughness, normal and displacement texture. Dirt, sweat and such is simply baked into the textures.
- Hair has a single black/white noise texture and then just pure colour to drive the strandbased hairs.
- Grass and background trees are 2D sprites

But I just took the raw texture and then used the stamp and then some handrawing in photoshop to apply it as an diffuse overlay texture to genesis 8 female. Milk, going by the cable and the nipple suction. But unless that girl has been genetically modified to have acidic or very basic chemicals in her milk, this wouldn't do much of anything. Bases are preferred.

Now that I think about it, the issues with having bone-dissolving bases in female milk production are quite interesting. You'd need biological protections for Alveoli and milk-ducts able to withstand that level of base, which is a non-trivial problem, especially if you're working within the constraint of biology. I'd guess a metallic compound? That mean that girl is eating her fair share of metals, just to have her breast able to withstand the production of such powerful bone dissolving milk.

If you go by 100% scientific accuracy, that girl should have had a ingot of metal on her over hand and should probably be chewing it.
