I was trying out something similar in dforce but the problem I ran into was that the character dforce mesh is too low res and idk if there is a way to subdivide it or rebuild it. UE5 likely even better. The controls are absolute garbage compared to practically everything else out there from illusion CharaStudio to Blender. There is a significant lack of QoL controls like Blender's (g)rab or r(otate). Animating in it is impossible, the physics engine is garbage, the face creation is subpar compared to CC4 or Metahuman. The only thing keeping it afloat is the absolutely monstrous library of clothes and presets marked up at insane prices.

This looks better than practically every Daz render I've seen and it's running in realtime https://youtu.be/S3F1vZYpH8c Imagine if Daz was able to actually pump out shots and actual animations within seconds. There is no excuse for 'rendering' in 2022 unless you are making a movie.

They really just should ditch the stand alone app and make daz a blender addon. Reskin blender to look like daz and make their assets available to purchase right their. Some stuff like the scripts would have to go but from what I recall it's using ancient javascript and an ancient version of Qt to keep compatibility already and something will have to give eventually. They could have a layer that translates legacy daz js into blender python?

Free features and new markets for their content. The content store is their only source of revenue anyways (why isn't daz open source already?). They need to keep their simps coming back for more at the bare minimum which will be a problem soon if you can make your pregnant oppai futa loli cuck porn on another platform just as easily that has no access to their store.

I've wondered this too. Duff files do, well can, have this data. They can know the figure they're for and what type of thing they are. The data can be missing or inaccurate though so maybe they would have to display a dialog about what you want to do with it regardless. For instance you can change a hair to say it's for g8 or g3 and it'll work just fine without the conversion as the head and neck bones are pretty much identical.

If you import a figure from another file type it will obviously not have this data.

>why isn't daz open source already?
Good question. Absolutely excellent question. I would code new features for Daz Studio, if it was open-source. Maybe port it in the newest version of QT if it's a problem. Or add a rendering engine or two. And just like you said, it's not like it's making them money: it's literally a free software. There is no grand algorithm or patented stuff in it either.

Instead of the Mormons paying pittance to two passionate but overworked devs that are routinely doing the impossible, they really just should make it open-source.

Of course, it's corporate thinking at worst, and corporate thinking doesn't like open source even when it could save their company, because reasons. Better to be proprietary and go bankrupt than open source and millionaire. And as long as it keeps making money through the shop, there is also no real pressure. The two overworked devs are enough for the Mormons.

>They really just should ditch the stand alone app and make daz a blender addon. Reskin blender to look like daz and make their assets available to purchase right their.
That is a bad idea, though. The amount of work that is currently in Daz Studio is staggering. As I worked on several scale projects, we are talking, I'd say, easily 300,000 - 500,000 lines of code. Some of them probably obscure and for very obscure, but used, features. Any port into Blender is doomed, unless you are putting millions of man hour into the project.

I've done some pretty crazy refactorings when I was younger, but that kind of refactoring, I'd balk at it. It would take me three or four years, at best, possibly double that, and tutting my own horn, I'm good.

There are a few options:
Use D-former to to adjust. You can apply multiple D-formers and position their field and base separately which is actually pretty powerful. They can also be turned into morphs as well for reuse.
DForce is hit or miss. It works better for small pieces of clothing like underwear, and it's a gamble whether it will look like a melted pile of garbage or not.
MeshGrabber and FitControl are two add-ons that do similar things. Fitcontrol creates morphs for any clothing piece that allow you to adjust it, one of them is a pull down that works decently enough. MeshGrabber is a primitive geometry editor which will let you drag around the polygons yourself. I mainly use this for fixing clipping.
You can also use Blender or some other program to sculpt it, but I avoid it mainly because I'm never confident enough in a scene/pose to get that far, but Blender is likely to get you the best results.

>> No.904983

The script? In DAZ Library there is the morphs folder
"My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs" (I have it called "Morphs_Active" but you can ignore that. It's just a symbolic link to another faster drive.)
These morphs are the main ones that slow down posing/loading. Conveniently together in one folder. I only use this one Library mostly. create a folder outside of your Library , name it something like "Morphs_Recent". That will be the inactive folder. Paste those folder paths into the script.
could look something like:
inactive_folder =r"F:\Morphs_Recent"
active_folder =r"F:\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs"
Manually move everything in the Morphs folder to the inactive folder you created. But you might want to leave the always needed morphs in "Morphs\DAZ 3D". They are called stuff like "Base", "Base Correctives"

Now when you load a duf file it will list all the missing morphs needed for that scene. Paste that list into a text file "needed_morphs_list.txt" and save it next to the script. Run the script with Python 3 and it will move all listed back into the morphs folder.

Daz has literally two full paid devs. Last I heard. There is the oldest one, and the youngest one. The youngest one implemented Filament. It seems like the oldest one is getting bored with stuff, and slowly getting out, while the youngest one is getting more overworked (though the oldest one seems overworked too, so IDK).

There is no meme. That is 100% facts from the Mormons.

Maybe the Mormons hired a third full time dev since then, I dunno. If you have more information, please feel free to share it.

>you're ram will get max'd out hella quick. daz doesnt let it go until you close it
Not sure if it's not a "I'm just jesting", but this is an idea that is thrown around quite a lot, so here:

Daz, for some really stupid reasons, never let go of your textures. Just in case you undo and need to load a prop again, it stores textures in memory forever. It's a good tradeoff: you don't need to wait one minute when you undo your erroneous delete main character command, instead it's instantaneous. But that also means ALL textures you ever loaded since you loaded the scene are still present in memory, just in case.

I guess they're dropped when you can't Ctrl-Z them anymore.

In any case, that explodes your memory like nothing else, but the solution is simple enough: reload the scene. At a scene loading, everything is purged, memory is zeroed, and we begin anew. So before each render, save your stuff and reload your stuff, and memory consumption will become alright.

The more you know.

There's a default script that will purge memory. Seems to work the same as erasing undo history most of the time.

Now the common basic user is still the horny teen that has a fetish for something completely impossible like a girl swallowing a dozen horsecocks and exploding into cum, but you never know if the other fan you're talking with isn't a 60 years old grandma knitting a sweater in her dainty apartment. What's most important for Daz is vram. I think the best price ratio right now for Daz is the 12gb 3060. Daz doesn't let go of ram and having 4 models in a single scene is already getting to the tipping point where your GPU turns into a paperweight

Dud, wut.

Confirmation: the process manager, clicking on a new texture, watching memory usage grows in exact proportionality with the texture, erasing the ctrl-z history and watching as memory usage becomes descent again. And some basic knowledge about computer science tradeoff and the only workable implementation for a fast ctrl-z as you can't load textures from hard drives again.

You know, not being a retard.

This millennial bullshit of being absolutely incompetent with computers, not understanding the first thing about them, being surprised by anyone using basic reasoning about the little magical boxes is tiring. I know most millennials do not even understand what is a file, but that is no excuses.

One of my biggest issues with Daz is the fact you cant seemingly make good looking clothing that simply goes over the tiddy and then just flows down. Only thing I've found is some variation of clothing always acting like super-retarded latex, snapping to the tiddy (or butt) perfectly from all angles, including cleavage area. Which ALWAYS look like shit.
It kinda sorta works with small tits, but the moment you go bigger it is all ogre.
I have yet to find a solution for this.

The best you can do it do a timeline simulation. Start with flat/normal chest, and then have your maximum booba at the end of the timeline. If you're lucky, and the stuff's dforce rigging is suitable, you can get close

But yeah. It's pain. I love that effect

>> No.908804

>>908803
Yeah that is the only way I found as well. There are some tools that allow you certain amount of play, but it is usually just half-assed memescripting. My goal is perfectly flat cleavage-tiddygap area with a latex top, but I don't think it is really possible in DAZ without fucking with the mesh itself outside of it.

Body is 65% razzledazzle and then just some mix and match with other morphs. So a quick edit. Face is just sliders and nothing custom beside some base asymmetrical morph I made.
Skin texture is just genesis 8 base that I have edited in photoshop by hand and combining with other textures.
So nothing special but saw the razzledazzle morphs and thought it could be fun to try. Might do my own version to fit better with my other gobbos.

there are different ways to do it. First method is done 100% inside DAZ using the geometry tool and Dforce.
Have a zero pose at frame 0 and then at frame 50 set the pose you want. Then set the morphs for your breasts to be 0 at frame 0 or use a morph that removes the breasts to be completely flat. Then at frame 50 set the breasts to the desired volume and look.
Now if you are using dforce clothes then just run the simulation as a animation and the cloth will conform to the breasts.
IF its not dforce clothes then select apply the dforce modifier to the cloth and then go the surface tab and set all the parts of the cloth you dont want to move to Dynamic strength 0. If the cloth only have 1 surface and so dforce would break / explode then select the geometry tool and then poly select all the faces you want to dforce. Then right click and then add new surface. Copy old surface to the new one (UVs will match) and then apply dforce modifier and set old parts to dynamic str 0 and the newly created surface to dynamic str 100.
If you have cloth explosions then set the bend stiffness to 20-30.
This will solve your issue 90% of the time. For extreme case then just export your model as an obj and the cloth as an obj. Then in blender, maya or max vertex edit or sculpt the shape to fit. Then import the cloth as a morph or a new obj.
