Hey I just bought a copy of maya 6, since I kind of collect older software. I’d like to know if anyone can share a serial number for it. I’d like to try it out, see how much things have changed etc.

I hope it comes with the hardware dongle for licensing or you are out of luck. I still have TONS of these flying around(both parallel and USB), partly from software I bought and from former workplaces(studios).

Most work under modern 64 bit Windows with some tinkering.

Example shows original 1995 copy of LW 4.0 running on Win 10, with the dongle connected to a USB to parallel port adapter.

So far I managed to run quite a number of my originals:
Lightwave 4-10 (no dongle after 10)
3D Studio Max R1-9
Maya 1-8.5
Softimage 4.0 (requires messing with config files and resolution hack)
XSI 1-6.5
Zbrush 1-3
Lightscape 2.0-3.2
and many more
