So I sculpted this. Am I doing it wrong? How am I supposed to sculpt real good anatomy?

Are there any good tutorials?

Rate and commend on my creation.

Something that help me improve a lot was to watch clay videos.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfxNWp0QfHg

Once you get it, sculpting is quite easy, and easier than traditional modelling.

Also, get pureref and make a basic file filled with references (photos) of what you want.
Also learn 2D skills.

Don't trust anons. Sculpting a shit, results are just too unpredictable.
Just poly model and do low poly cute models.

All 3d models you see in big game and movie productions have been sculpted and retopo'd. Get with the times blendlet.

It always come back to 2d skills, if you don't have them then don't bother

Bullcrap. 2d drawing and 3d sculpting are two different things. It's about the knowledge of anatomy.

This is the answer.

Check out some anatomy books, start by drawing it, watch youtube videos, etc. You'll get there in time.

Gigantic brainlet take and it's why /3/ needs to be purged of all weakness.

Cgpeers, brainlet. 14 hours a day sculpting. If you have 130+ IQ you will proliferate into a professional quality in half the time it takes someone with a lower IQ. If you have 140 or higher you develop even faster.

When does CG peers even open for registration? I thought it's supposed to open for the first few days of every month.

1st and 15th but I haven't had to register in years. Maybe they changed it to invite.

Dude I love clay. Will me playing around with play help me? Because standard 3D sculpting i frustrating as fuck.

First of the """"""brushes"""" are not brushes they are totally different tools have fun figuring out what to use.

I be more happy if I was able to do it by hand. Because (or is it just blender that I'm using) its frustrating for example the move """""brush""" is cancer and fucked for example its actually a 3D sphere that is actually invisible so if you move the top of the eye socket to close to the bottom of the eye socket the 3D sphere move brush will start interacting with the bottom of the eye socket and start moving it also.

Holy fuck is that frustrating and surprising.

Can this 3D sphere be visible or semi visible?
In the view port?
I'm just thinking bout simply buying VR gear to get into oculus medium because its so logical there.

The 3D move spheres are semi transparent there.

I also can use actual stroked in VR with the tools to remove or ad things while traditional 3D sculpting is real hot garbage where it only moves along the normal's.

TL;DR traditional 3D sculpting looks like a complicated mess of hot garbage and pure bullshit, and VR sculpting looks like I can work like with real clay. I can just add mass wherever i want

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9F854uHJJA

Should I buy the headset and get into VR sculpting and skip this strange traditional 3D sculpting that actually only can function in 2D with shit loads of gotcha yous and fuck ups to learn?

I actually model my figures by creating base shapes of spheres in blender and twisting them to make 2 spheres objects for the arm and mirror them to the other side.

Same for legs there are like 6 separate objects that I then join together after the proportions are to my liking.

And then start to sculpt the thing to join it together.

Am I doing this right or wrong?

Thanks everyone for the help and interaction feel free to shit on my sculpt.

At least with Blender, if you enable dynamic topology, it's pretty close to what I imagine clay modeling is like.

>> No.723452

>>723443
I think I need to draw you are picture to visualize the moves that are impossible in traditional 3D modeling and what s possible in VR modeling.

>enable dynamic topology
Do I do this? Or do I first sculpt in minimal topology hen subdivide and get the details in?

I tried dynamic topology and these are the things I need to know.

I do that and then sculpt high poly versions using their shapes as a guide.

Not really. most of the tools in 3D sculpting programs (zbrush included) are completely removed from anything that resembles real clay. 'pinch', 'crease', 'inflate' etc are totally nonsensical.

So... have they turned off the registrations on purpose, or is it simply that they are too retarded to operate the tracker software correctly?

sculpting is for characters
poly for hardsurface
unless you want hemorroids poly model a character face
