Create meshes as shown (turbo smoothed box, noise on plane). select the egg and go Geometry>Compound Objects>ProBoolean.

Select 'intersection' and check 'Imprint', click Start Picking and select the cut plane.

Select edges of the resulting editable poly, the cut should be already selected, do a 'split' operation to separate the halves.

pick a 'shell' modifier from the modifier list to give the egg thickness.

Been a while since I used max but,

I'm pretty sure that 3ds max has,

- a subdivided grid

-a noise modifier

-Pro Booleans

-a Shell modifier

-a Text compound object

easy as fuck
>make box
>make it an editable poly
>shape into a 3d trapezoid
>apply open subdiv (then apply it since it needs boolean operations) OR select the whole object and hit MS smooth 3 times under the edit geometry section and under the face polygonal subobject
>make sure you autosmooth it under the smoothing groups in the face subobject
>make a plane with a few subdivisions
>place it mid the egg
>go to freeform tools and select nois and move that shit around and or the shift tool while in orthographic view on the side
>make the egg a proboolean compound
>make the plane the object to intersect it
>make it an editable poly again
>go to your modifiers and apply a face extrude now you have your thickness
and boom youre done.the rest im sure you know how to do and what not with rendering it.

the op one looks better to be honest, i think ill give sketchup a try im pretty tired of having to use blender for everything

>> No.678116

Shit, that max egg looks so much better, I'm uninstalling blender rite naow, free was fun but I guess there just isn't any competing with propiratetary software after all huh? lol.

Sorry /3/ the meme was fun and all but I wanna succeed in life so Imma just install some real kung-fu software instead of continue with these kiddie version bullshido.

Sketchup is not free you idiot. you cant use it for commercial work so its the same as using student version of max or maya. if you are using sketchup without paying for work you might as well pirate every other software on this planet.

I didnt know sketchup was capaple of that, unless theres plugins at play
