That curve requires higher res geometry. I believe only PAs have access to the tools required to make a Daz morph for it. But you can achieve the same effect with a displacement map. I don't know whether it would work with Iray though, as I haven't tested it.

I've been working on that for months. There's this plugin for importing DAZ but something in the past few weeks worth of 2.80 betas releases broke the compatibility.

In my opinion the best import option into Blender is just .obj and keeping all your textures nicely organised. Either export posed or rebuild the rig yourself/with Rigify or similar. Make proper materials afterwards to render; I find the materials included in many Blender import options to be unsatisfactory and way too complicated for a subpar result (principled all the way 2bh). FBX would be nice, but we all know Blender's FBX woes.

Diffeomorphic can convert Daz's rig into MakeHuman (MHX) or Rigify. I think that is the plugin's most useful feature.

I've been using the MakeHuman rig which lets me use MakeWalk to animate my characters with .bvh mocaps. I can also import a .fbx animation from Mixamo into Blender, then export it into .bvh, then reimport it with MakeWalk.

You can use the Multires sculpting mode to avoid changing the topology of the base mesh. But (I believe) you need the HD morphs add-on, which is only legally available to PA, to import and use those sculpts as morphs back in Daz.

Made a Ticket to Ride USA board from the board game in the daz shop. Had to kitbash it a fair bit to get what I wanted. Couldn't find HD textures for the board unfortunately (it's copyrighted of course) so it doesn't look as great as it should. The original didn't have any texture specified for the board so I did just took something random from google images without thinking too hard about it (it's probably a little too rough). I should probably reduce the gloss too. I got the trains from thingiverse. Tried to subd them to get a more smooth plastic look but that made them look spiky for some reason.

>dial in the morph I did in zbrush and some other morphs
>export obj to zbrush again with the combined morphs
>try to import this and update the base mesh in zbrush
but the last part doesn't work. The model replaces and removes all the higher subd detail and the position moves up for some reason. Anyone know how to make this work? Project Mesh works but not as well as exactly updating the base mesh.

So I was experimenting with deformers and apparently if the dform field gets moved inside the affected area it works fine but if the affected area moves into the dform field, nothing happens. the dform field stays active at the same spot.

I tried to parent the dform in all sorts of ways but again, if the field is stationary and the affected mesh moves into it, nothing, only if the deform field is moving on it's own.

Alright, now I found out that animating using the puppeteering thing will do just that. The dformer gets ignored but if you animate by pulling the model around directly it works just fine.
So I guess it's a puppeteering bug. Shame, knowing Daz this will probably never get fixed and it's so damn good to quickly click the animation keyframes into the pupp., tweak them until they fit and then go over to animating.
