This board is swarming with delusional blendlets.

How do we get rid of them for good? Autodesk crusades when?

>> No.619194

Blender is just a tool. If you're shit at 3D, it doesn't matter what program you use.

This, pretty much.

I've seen godawful shit in Autodesk products just as much as I have Blender.

Though nothing will ever top this masterpiece: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDoLszwmL4Q

What if I want to get blendshapes inside unreal? What if I want to smooth my UVs?

RIGHT. You can't even properly relax UVs in Blender, all you have is a shitty smooth sculpt uv tool that makes everything worse.

WHAT IF I WANT TO WORK IN A STUDIO?

Then you switch to another tool? It's a free fucking country, I don't use blender, but I don't care if someone else does.

>>619230

No you can't. Go on the unreal forum and take a look at all the people who struggle to send a simple animation to the engine. And you can't find a job in a studio if you're only using blender. KYS blendlet.

Why would autodesk waste their money on a useless software that doesn't represent any threat to them?

I don't think solidworks and catia will be impressed by them buying out children sandbox application

you sound like a fucking tool. in 5 years, blender will be miles ahead.

>> No.619309

>>619308

It won't. In 5 years, deluded blendlets such as yourself will still repeat the same crap over and over again. Truth is, Blender is always going to be the beginner's app. A nice toy to create assets for your PT/survive the night clone in unity.

Blender represents a significant share of the freeware 3D modeler market. Autodesk buys out TBF, now all those users are Autodesk software users.

They don't even need to do anything else, things could remain exactly the same, Autodesk's branch of Blender maybe becomes closed-source but the software remains free as if nothing happened. But it would be another shot across the marketshare bow for Modo and even something like zBrush.

>> No.619311

>>619290

Buying MODO or Houdini, now that would be a trophy. Buying blender would like pushing a cripple down the stairs.

Hell, Autodesk should just buy out all the software (even Adobe). Just make it a monopoly like Disney and Universal both are.

>> No.619462

No I don't. You'll see in 10-20-30 years. Blender will still be an amateur app while autodesk apps dominate in game and animation studios.

Autodesk has no interest in a team of unskilled but progressive, highly diverse and culturally enriched bunch of people. Unlike the Blender Foundation, Autodesk is a business and needs to sell things that actually work to stay in business.

Hey, the thread's OP is about solving the Blendlet problem. My solution doesn't make Autodesk the most money but it does pull a vanishing act with all the Blendies overnight if Autodesk decides to switch the name.

After that, it would all be a matter of waiting it out for users to re-adapt to the new name while the holdouts get forgotten by time Softimage-style.

Autodesk's version of Blender might get ahead, but there would still be development on the open-source branch. I suspect most current Blender users would move into that one, and things would remain about the same way they are now.
