How do I find a freelancing job?

Do 2-3 projects at once, so long as you're not the lead and only need to model. Be sure to contract with stated pay/etc...

Cheap prices, many threads on different 3D forums, while also being polite and humble. Just don't do royalty if you just want money. Half and half payment is probably the most compromising - people order art and then decline to pay. Make sure they're serious.

Also to add on, Artstation and Polycount always have recruitment ads up. Just a friendly reminder.

kill yourself, then you will go to heaven and you can get a job there

i got a small gig from some indie forum and the other from freelancer website.

but you can't just leave your shit hanging, gotta update constantly

Which 3D forums?

Also I've been trying freelancer and it seems like all the even semi decent jobs are taken up by people who may or may not have more experience but have way more time logged on the site.

I have actually had a decent paying freelancing job in the past but it was out of pure coincidence that I found it.

the one is local (to my country) freelancer site
the other was indiegamer

Polycount, Unity3D, UnrealEngine, Indiegamer, Rebbit are just a few which you can shill yourself on in the job posting sections. Again, ArtStation and Polycount have professional job posting that you can get if you're actually skilled.

How skilled is skilled for Artstation and Polycount?

I can make some pretty good stuff but I'm no master or anything. Do I have a shot?

I've seen worse on Polycount, and I've seen worse get feedback.

It can only get better.

>> No.557625

What are your skills?
I need someone with UE4 experience, and someone with texturing experience.

>> No.557661

>>557625
I know 3D modelling, animation, texturing, rigging etc. in blender and also somewhat in Maya.
I program in multiple languages although I mainly program in the Unity engine.

Some stuff I've made in the past:
A low poly model of the U.S.S. Laffey
Lots of smaller animations, renders etc.
A near complete recreation of DOOM in Unity (using different sprites).
Quake style enemy AI.
Remaking the NES godzilla game in Unity with actual buildings instead of rocks.

I mainly do a tonne of small projects on my own although I have done freelancing work before. Also of course this isn't the most formal application since its on a Chinese Rattle snake trading forum.

You're hired. You'll work for royalties at a 1% exchange rate. Post your Skype.

If that doesn't work just tell me and I can find something that does.

What's your rate and where do you live?

>> No.557670

>>557666
I live in Canada. As for rate it is negotiable depending on what needs to be done. I have never really charged too much though.

Too bad, I'm from germany and can only really hire locals

Oh. Well thanks anyway. Although if you change your mind I don't think there is anything wrong with transferring money over paypal and files over skype or something.
