Anyone here actually work in the industry? I do - Vancouver Canada - I wanna call out some shitty studios cause I can - Atomic cartoons in Vancouver Canada is a sallow trench and the owners are greedy. bill lumbergh Style. It's sad because Vancouver studios are sold to larger corporate business's by selling garbage TV products.
The owners don't give a fuck about art they just want profits.

I feel Sorry for young naive artists who work hard on these garbage productions only to support the owners retirement.

They will sell their studio and outsource your job. Therefore the owners are weak business owners and if they were smart they would have simply pursued real estate.

All you who want to be animators and artists - know that most owners are shallow dough bags

I've been strongly considering moving to Calgary or Vancouver for a while to try and find better work. Any more studios/areas to avoid?

There are a couple of cool places to work at in Québec City and Montréal - even the largest companies if you get a Senior rank: Hybride, Rodeo FX, Ubisoft, Eidos, Mokko, Volta, Squeeze, SidLee, etc. Outsourcing will be a path that those companies take from time to time, but they'll always need artists in-house to create, establish quality standards, and supervise the incoming work.
