I have a plate that is daytime and I plan to color correct it to look like night

In terms of the 3d objects I'm putting in, should I render out to match the pre-color corrected scene? and then adjust the scene entirely?

or light it the way the finished scene would look?

I would render to match the ambient shading and general colour/gamma of the original plate, but disable shadows, unless the night scene has a directional light source.

nowadays, even real-time applications use PBR-based workflows.

Match them to the base plate first
