Installed Unreal Engine 4.7 today, and boy what a crock of shit. Menus upon menus, inverted mouse by default, they wanted me to use that horrible spaghetti node graph shit. Then I went into the asset store, and you couldnt even search. Search wasnt possible. Everything on there was like $30-100, even for ugly looking stuff.

I went into the unreal tournament 4 pre-alpha and i swear to god I almost threw up playing the bots, the post processing shit like motion blur was so extreme.

I hate epic games now. I thought it was all a maymay, but they make shit software, with horrible ui.

Lets talk about quality engines here, /3/. How's cryengine these days?

Sounds like you really didn't use ue4 and just ran the program and started judging. Also sounds like you know nothing about game engines in general since the next engine you mentioned was cry engine. You know you have to be 18 to post here, right? Graphics aren't the deciding factor in choosing an engine.

Cryengine must be really really bad to be worse than this shit

>> No.476427

It's not made for the public. It's got small but alloying bugs and an extremely confusing interface.

While anyone can use it, it seems very in house, people at crytek are the only ones who know the little things that would be impossible to figure out without 1 on 1 help with the software dev team.

But this was last time I used it. Ue4 has pretty good documentation

Agreed. OP opened a game engine for the first time today it seems like.

Nope. I use unity, a DECENT engine. Just seeing what its like on the other side.

Nodes are pretty simple, however if your deving in unreal you'll want to learn c++

Seriously who in their right mind buys premade shit? Not that I care, but have any of you actually sold your models for a good profit?

A lot of based unityfags apparently.

Have you tried the new Magic engine?

All you have to do is describe your brilliant idea for an open world RPG in plain English, then simply press the "make game" button.

>> No.476532

>>476526
The engine will also produce a final version right off the bat, however you can make a shittier version by pressing the "make somewhat promising looking beta" button, just in case you need to make a gameplay video to buy some time to milk more money off your Kickstarter campaign.

If you looked at the source of this Magic engine it would resemble Unity, and not unreal. Thats how bad unrealshit is.

you sound like a great game dev and totally not some kid who never made a game before

Eh, a lot of projects (particularly mobile) don't need any C++
