Okay, I'm back to report. Guys, holy shit this is amazing. I actually called up two of my friends from animation school and we sat down, rolled four fat ones and proceeded to have the time of our fucking lives.

Theiser-spic is a fucking comedic genius, I've never laughed so hard in my entire goddamn life. I was struggling to breathe at some points. Best thing is; I've no clue what the fuck this shit is about. Obviously the main character is some sort of super hero but he can't control his powers or some shit so he kills a lot of people and then there's some guys who don't like him so he kills them and they kill his girlfriend but then she was alive two minutes later. Then the story starts skipping back in time to 1400BC and we see knights, samurai, transformers and Jesus sitting around a table talking Mexican and then the main transformer starts crying for some reason. Because he's sad he has decided to kill himself and back in current day Theiser somehow gained the dead transformers' powers.

I'm not making this shit up

The story ends with some deformed, blue Diablo-esque looking motherfucker arriving to earth to fuck shit up. But Theiser, like the true Hispanic hero he is, hadoukens the ever-living shit out of him and then he and his friends just rally around the monsters' corpse and proceed to trash-talk him for about 2 minutes.

I'd say this is about most autistic 3D animation I've ever seen. /3/ needs to step up its game if it ever wants to get on Theiser-spic's level.

Shit like RWBY and Theiser are made by the same kinds of people. These guys want to have the best, most super coolest thing ever but they don't take criticism well (read: at all) so they don't have a sounding board to bounce shit off of and get rid of bad ideas -- which would be damn near the entire super cool idea they had.

So they huddle together with people who won't tell them their ideas suck and ignore anyone else you says it needs work or it isn't worth the time. Then these gems come out.

It sucks to say it but it's a prime example of what happens in a bully free society. No one there to make them question if what they're doing is terrible.

Imagine this spic actually visiting his local gas station on a bi-daily basis and buying jerrycans of diesel for his power generator, only to keep his 1996 Compaq running. Don't even get me started on the third world internet connection that's running in his slum favela, it must have took this guy like 2 weeks to upload his motion picture on YouTube. Everyone in his town is laughing at him, saying he won't make it. Every day he's walking to that gas station and people are looking at him in disgust; "FIND A REAL JOB, PEDRO!", "YOU'RE A SHIT ANIMATOR, PEDRO!".

Deep inside Pedro knows he will make it, no matter what people say. No matter how many bills he has to pay to make Theiser, he knows that it will become a commercial success one day.

And here we are, /3/. Laughing at this spic for having a dream. I feel bad.

I think certainly "Theiser", "RWBY", RBG et al can and should indeed be criticized as with any and all art. Direction, story, technique, all of that is open for criticism and frank, objective criticism is important for any progress.

But "What an idiot! He sucks. He should never have made it. He's a failure. What a loser" isn't even a valid criticism. He obtained his objective, to tell his story. His only failure would be if he had not made it.

We can criticize the technique. We can criticize the effectiveness of his methods. But to criticize the act and the attempt is pointless. He wanted to make something. He made the thing he wanted to make. He succeeded.

Hopefully he has grown from the experience and will progress as an artist. Whether he will ever be a skilled artist is only secondary. That he set goals for himself and achieve them to the best of his abilities I really what it's all about.

The eleventh september 2001 a group of disgruntled men took over a commercial airliner and flew it into the Pentagon.
We may critize their techniqe, the angle at ehich they hit the building and the general effectiveness of flying a airliner into a low concrete fortress.
But to actually critize the attempt itself is pointless, because they did something they wanted to do and they succeeded.

Saying 'you can't criticize X because it's an act' makes no sense at all, that's what my example illustrates.

When you slam into production you don't learn much since all you're doing is repeating things you've already learned.
Improvement comes when you take your time and make a point of pushing the envelope past your previous achievements.

Key to realize is that to be able to actually concieve of the idea of making Theiser, when your skill allow you to make nothing but Theiser
this strive for quality doesn't even exist inside your skull.

Or at the very least is muted by the neckbreaking weight of the mountain of purified weeb that resides inside your head.

That's the thing. He doesn't have a grasp at anatomy (his models are very angular, meaning it's probably just an extruded polygon shape but with smoothing).

Also his animation could do with some more effort. Sure animating realistically is hard when you are an amateur but if he just ads a few more key-frames it could look better.

Also lightly needs to improve. Get some shadows at least.

25 SECONDS for that unanimated graphic at the beginning. LOOK AT MY AMAZING LOGO FOR TWENTY FIVE SECONDS -- THAT'S HOW PROUD I AM OF THIS PROJECT, WORLD.

Take a step back and imagine that you just spent 15 years on a single project, and this is how it came out. Think about how old you were 15 years ago. Think about the things you've done since then.

This might be the most depressing thing in the world. An entire youth, lost, by choice.

If there is any indication, the guy lives in a backwater, 3d world country south american shithole. And the best he has for it is a long obsolete computer and nearly as bad 3D design tool. He probably is self taught.

It's like watching an ape build a hut with its bare hands. It is amazing, but such a primitive being.

Even for a sfm video, this is fucking awful.
It's basically only a set of separate keyframes being seconds apart.

You didn't bother to give any uniqueness in moving the characters. You just had then being in one position one moment, then you went forwards a few seconds and just added the next position.

You could have done something interesting with the movement.

Do some animation with the bodies, instead of just opening there eyes, have them pit their hands against their face in surprise?

Maybe do something funny where one of them explodes, idk.

See pic related for a good idea on how to make animations interesting, or at least how to learn to what timing is regarding keyframes. This is only a small part of what you need to learn to get gud.
