I also have a retarded question OP, so I hope you won't mind if I use your thread as well. When I right click on one blade to move it, or to increase its size, the other one moves as well. How do I "ungroup" them?

i believe you built those 2 pieces inside a single object. i have the same question for a bathtub i made a while ago, but i thought it was too autistic to be posted

You can't, you have to use an Empty -> Image

You also can't crop background images either, which is annoying

>> No.463218

>>463205
Go into Edit Mode (tab key by default), select the object you want (make sure you get the entire thing), press P or press spacebar and type "Separate" then select 'By Selection'

What happened is you added an object or duplicated an object while in Edit Mode, causing Blender to automatically group them together (thereby causing modifiers, materials, etc to automatically be applied to the extra shit).

Background Images are only visible in Orthographic Mode.

You can also change which Ortho viewmode (Front, Back, Top, Bottom, Left, Right) they're visible in, but by default they're set to Everything.

I'm not quite sure why there's no Perspective option but to get around it you can (from Object Mode) to to the Add Menu (Shift A) -> Empty -> Image

Then click the Object Properties tab on the far right and click Open to select an image. Be sure to click the little image grid view button to display your images as thumbnails instead of just file names

Can you take a screenshot of the Mirror Modifier settings?

I'm not really sure why that's happening, it looks like it's being applied twice or like it's mirroring X and Y or something, maybe there's multiple duplicates ontop of each other or something?

I'd just delete the mirror modifier, reset the origin of the mask (spacebar -> set origin, or shift ctrl alt c, or Set Origin button on the toolbar to the left) to Origin to Center of Mass

Then I'd add an Empty vertex and use that in the Mirror Modifier (click the Mirror Object box at the bottom of the modifier panel) and move that around

If its an individual object you can go edit mode and press A, then P and click on separate by loose parts.

Aren't there any easy paint on texturing programs?

Complete noob here,I was trying to rip 3D models from a PSP game, but when I rip them, there are light effects that don't come out transparent,so there are black squares everywhere
How do I make the black parts transparent when rendering?

If you're using Blender, apply these settings in the node editor. Just had that problem earlier.

Switch to Cycles, go to Node Editor, turn on material nodes.
