op image is the final model. The head of pixar r&d said so and presented them as his first slide in late 2012, almost 3 years after toy story 3 came out

Final models.
FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME: You DON´T animate 100000 poly models. Those are sculpts.
You animate low resolution final meshes, and add meshsmooth deformers before rendering.
Done, the secret it´s out.

what the fuck are you on, those aren't sculpts dipshit.

also they are obviously modeled that way so they look more like plastic. They don't need wrinkles and "human" deformations because they're fucking plastic toys. Jesus Christ the stupidity of this board.

They´re LOW POLY. You ANIMATE LOW POLY ONLY, imbecile. Plastic looks or not, asshole.
> but muh avatar/beowulf/heavy whathafuck
Low poly too, faggot. All of them. If anything, saving animation data and pass on to the heavy mesh scene is a must depending on the case.
The raging morons on this board, seriously.

The 100000 poly models pointed in the phrase are sculpts, not the ones in OP picture, Kid.

100K polygons is not much for a highpoly mesh targeted for offline rendering, actually we're almost there with realtime characters in fighting games.
The proxy mesh level 0 subdiv mesh for a movie asset type humanoid is a few hundred thousand polygons, then you usually displace it at runtime up to a couple of millions.

Typical humanoid sculpts are frequently over 10 million triangles.

if i remember right, street fighter 4 is 45-50k per character on the consoles. and considering certain scenes in crisis are over 4.5 million total, 100k for a person is reasonable for new fighters, hell uncharted if i remember right had 35-45k per main character in game and moving passed the first game.

I don't understand what there's mad to be about. Their eyelids don't need to be connected to their faces because they're just half spheres that open and close. They don't need a tome of face loops because they're plastic. Why exactly should I be mad about this?
