Game design is not 3d modeling.

As far as a career...modeling...specifically modeling in gaming requires a kick ass demo reel and kick-ass networking skills. Schooling is optional.

Yeah about that, over here collage is more like this place where you can like read books and calculate stuff and measure things and shit.
You're allowed to come there for free and are provided one meal a day, and you're allowed to ride the public transportation back and forth to this place from where you live,

Some places don't have a large amount of CG professionals, like Russia. But in the US and Canada it'll be hard to get a modeling job. If you can focus more on the computer science aspects of CG you'll go further. Or learn a complicated program like Houdini.

im a character artist. but i only have about two years in the industry. im from upstate NY and have an associates from MVCC in animation. which is useless since i dont animate. dont waste your money on school. take gnomon classes online. buy tutorials and work your ass off to get a good portfolio.
