ITT: Post your first completed model and your most recent completed model.

>> No.373331

What's the point. It's not like it'll amount to anything. The amount of time it takes to put in the effort, someone just scans or edits another model to make it their own. Fuck everything.

Actually I was more curious as to the improvement rate of most of /3/ over the years, hence putting the date on my work. I was hoping to see an overall rates of "it took me 3 years to get from skill A to skill B".

time difference is a year and a few months. It's not *a* model I made, but more like a babby map.

thanks, my works are still sloppy though. It did work out with this one. I feel like the hardest thing is to not be lazy while modeling/unwrapping.

that robot.
would pilot that as normal transportation/10

You should make one without the turrets and re texture for modern transport use.

The face I did in after effects after the fact, my boss wanted 3d + 2d face, and since blender doesn't really support animated textures in cycles idk what else to do, got it as close as possible.

lol seriously ? well I gotta admit that animating 2.5 faces are hard since there is no efficient way to control animated textures sophisticated enough to create a living face.

Can't say unwrapping was any hard. At first I also thought that it'll gonna be huge pain in ass, but surprisingly finished in 2-3 days.
Used default maya's auto uv and than cut/attach/unfold with hotkeys amoung with several handy uv scripts like scale&move from RD poly tools.

Or mocha and AE. Easier and cheaper then nuke. Also nuke is breaking a fly on the wheel. You also could use Houdini or Fusion or whoopdefuckindoo - he has AE so let him use it.

Try tweaking the tracking a bit and look out for the size change of the eye. I would really recommend to give her 4 tracking points on the model of the face and do the tracking with mocha. Should work like a charm!

Right now im working on a laser pistol from Fallout 3/ NV.
Im doing it in catia v5 since i have most experience with that. Altho its kinda hard to make it look identical to the one in game since there are no high quality schematics.

373898

First finished model in Blender since playing around in 3DSMax back in '09.

Quick question: I used Glass BSDF on as the surface, and pure white as the color. All other settings were left unchanged. Is there any particular reason why it has that green tint to it and isn't completely transparent? If it means anything, during rendering I used a white plane in the background (which I edited out in the picture here).

Also, I'm aware I should add some sort of bump map for the cork.

unless its pure white it will affect the color of the glass

Make sure the world, or at least the background, color is set to whatever color you want your glass to be, otherwise it won't work.
