When making a N64 potato, what's the best way to texture the solid-color surfaces? Not talking about that faked "lighting" by vertex but the actual textures.

I see many models only use texture on important or animated parts like the eyes or other details, but still have a small block of base color in the image.
Do I unwrap the whole model as usual and shrink the UV super tiny in the solid areas?
