Honestly I'd be fucking pissed if Blender became the industry standard. Not because of sunk cost or anything like that because I've literally never had to actually pay for industry software, but because right now the most unpleasant interface I have to use is zbrush and I don't think I could handle it getting any worse than that.
Also, it's the inverse literally anywhere else with CG discussion. If you mention using Maya on Twitter there's like a 50% chance you'll get a Blender user in your mentions that spends all day namesearching other 3D software for some reason. If you mention using Photoshop someone that likes CSP will show up to tell you about how cheap it is. At least if it was the other way around you could go "lol yeah but what if they're being paid to shill".
