No you are not too far to notice details.
Look one thing Daz is good at is rendering, but your denial will keep you forever in the camp of deviant art shitters.
When you go for realism on half your gear but get lazy on the rest, it really stands out.
The boots and belts look good. Even without any normal maps they have detail.
But your coat takes up so much of the pictures space yet it's so bland. Add some creases, pockets, hems, anything to get some more detail in there.
