here's a visual example showing its functionality. left two show use with an armature, right is with a mesh
>--select a curve
>--SHIFT SELECT a curve
fixed. when you run the script there should only be two selected objects, the active should be a curve and the selected either a mesh or an armature. for now, anyway.

other shit i forgot to mention:
--intended use, specifically, is one of either:
A)for armatures: controlling a bone with the follow path constraint
B)for meshes: using the curve deform modifier
--the copied curve is given the active object's name + "_CPROXY". you can change it if you like but who cares
--the script places the active object in the last layer of the scene and removes it from any other layer. this is in hopes of allowing you to just look at the proxy and not having to worry about the original.
--the proxy and the copy share mesh data, so any changes made to the proxy will also alter the original. that's why it works at all, actually.

hopefully i won't be making fucking walls of text every time i do this but it's hard to help myself...
i can add a lot more to this if anybody gives a shit, this is pretty much nothing. just duplicate an object, detect an object type, and copy a relevant position. tired of typing.
