Anyone could share some insight as to what I'm fucking up when it comes to normal baking?

Right now I have to use a ray distance of 20 to get the best results, but you an clearly see some issues, and considering the scale of my mesh, and the values used in that one tutorial by donutman, I'm sure that's already a big red flag that I'm fucking up something fundamental.

The high poly mesh is nothing special, just the same mesh with a subdivision modifier that has been applied to it, don't really have the time to learn to sculpt. I tried ray distance values ranging between 0.01 and 50, but every time I get the same band on the chestpiece (seems like the sword's imprint, but could be something else, I don't know).

I'm sure that question comes up all the time, sorry if that's the case.
