Alright! Let's do something fun. Pick any object from this scene whether this be Light, Wall, Gun, Key and model it.

It can't rig, It can skin.
>Rigging is a posing a skeleton to a model
>Skinning is attaching those bones to a model.

I've been thinking about doing something as a challenge, I would have to create a bunch of assets for it because this would require some commitment by you lot.

Sometime next year or end of this year.

You use alphas.

Valve had this problem with Left 4 Dead, Essentially you've got an alpha over the inserting areas and as it comes out this area is made visual able again.

GDC has a talk about this on their website, I recommend you look it up.

Your looking for work? I'd recommend hitting sites like Polycount, ArtStation and Facebook Groups.

Why? Because you people will post job offers. However its unlikely you'll get a major offer unless your in the US in which case you may be hired directly from the course.

Next step. Proof your worth. In the time you've been sat idle someone else has been practicing this trade. They've become better.

Why aren't you practicing and building models? Right now.

I recommend doing the challenge topics on 4C Or Polycount.

I also recommend you make this into a model to prove your skill to theses people or they will eat you alive.. bit by bit.

I'm just going to tell you that usually you'll do an art test before hiring someone.

It can be one up to four or five just to see if you can work quickly and good.

Now this model. He's block out the basic's however he'll need to detail it.

Marvelous Designer can create clothing and its very useful for creating fully clothed models however it doesn't from my knowledge do softbody physics.

No. You create a quick monster sculpture or busts. They are usually just the head, neck and shoulders.

They tend to look like this.

>> No.485121 [View]

I think i've got an idea of what we will do next "creature busts"

I'd expect your all familiar with ZBrush or some sculpting tool but we've still got time till august.

I'll wait until then.

If no one else has an opinion, I think it wouldn't be to hard for you guys to create as after all it's all simple shapes and nothing really that complicated.

>How do I get as good as these guys?
You practice every day, I make models every day because i want to keep up my skill and be speedy at what i do.

You need to do the same if you want to be able to work fast and be good at it.

That's a nice blockout but you'll need more basic forms in that before you do your detailing.

Like you may want to pull in the back area for the trigger area and insert some tubes for the barrel.

>> No.483690 [View]

>>483651
You use ZBrush.
>Start with a sphere then pull out some form with the move brush and push and pull to create something rockish then you grab the trim dynamic brush and begin Harding up those surfaces.

I recommend using ZRemesher as well because if you set it to a low enough count it can generate some pretty nice rock forms that are similar in look to this.

then its just a matter of dividing it and texturing it.

It is but its frown upon. The reason why you have to model in quads is because its so that anyone can take your mesh and read it easily and not have to guess where your edge loops are going.

I don't use blender.

It depends. Some people will build the entire thing in a single scene then just have incremental save on so that you don't lose your model and layer separate objects so that you don't have them visible in your workspace when your detailing a single object.

And others will construct each object in different scenes and just import it but then you've just issues because things may not match up as you don't have reference and even if you do your importing the same object into a dozen different scenes so it becomes costly and annoying to ultimately do.

Hi.

Remake the entire model, Don't ask why just do it then as your modeling look at the objects that make up the fishing rod.

For example. You didn't accurately create theses.

If you want to become a better modeler you'll need to look at your reference more often because it seems like you've just done it from memory and doing it from memory is like looking a badly compressed jpeg.

You get this.
