Hey, thanks for the link. I didn't directly respond to you in the below post, but there's a small PDF on level design if that interests you at all.

To anyone else reading this thread, don't use Sculptris. There's a lot less support for it than you think, and ZBrush is a lot more professional and of better quality.

Thanks for the link!

Since I do want to contribute to the thread in return, I found some level design PDFs that might be of use to you.

http://www.worldofleveldesign.com/ebooks/ultimate-level-design-guide-11-days-level-design.php

I might also update this with a download link to ZBrush, when I find it.

>> No.397633 [View]

Hold on, where's a safe download for ZBrush? I've been looking before, but I can't seem to find one.

can you get Marvelous Designer to work with game engines easily? (mostly interested in udk support) the program looks interesting and there just happens to be freeleech mode on cgpeers

why not do it the easy way

if you give me a model of a hand holding a knife with one basic animation i can try to make kismet and matinee based melee attacks. it's basically attaching the hand to camera and playing an animation on keypress. damage can be made by using 'modify health' node.

i have no idea, probably depending on how complex do you want them to be (changing over time/space, looping, actual length and so on)

here are the short loops i mentioned before, pulled in maybe one hour as we had little time (i don't recommend making a 3d game in 7 days if there is only two of you)

it's a hobbyst-level drum and bass demo so don't expect pro level shit (we are not targeting AAA quality mod anyway, right) but here it is

i have some soundtrackish music loops i used for my udk projects, i'll post them if you will be interested (have to find them on my hdd first)

it doesn't matter what you use, it matters how you use it. i couldn't care less about other programs when I'm comfortable with fls. also i'm not a complete faggot to get a mac so no logic.

and don't compare FL to anything else like you do with blender versus actual 3d modelling programs
>nobody uses blender professionally
>people use fls professionally (avicii for example)

I like it.The shape is simple but detailed.of course, the level is not of great artists, but it's good.

I like how it doesn't lock your selection to the active window. Other Unity games have done it that way and it's kind of annoying.

I like using Blender. Only annoyance is when I go to use other programs and it takes my fingers a second to adjust. Once I am back in Blender oh how sweet it is.

You pretty much have it.

If you are just posing a char you can probably save time on the rigging by using something like bone envelopes instead of weight painting. Posing in max would also provide the advantage of a cloth sim. Any deformation problems you can't fix in max are easily fixed with sculpting in mudbox.

Do you useRoadkill, OP? I found it makes life a lot easier.

>> No.386373 [View]

The NPR itself isn't bad per say, the animation needed work, though.
